Hey, Insider!

Jaan here. Bothering specifically you, as a Tesla Space Insider…

…on a Sunday?!

Well, what would be better for a casual Sunday read than the absolutely most detailed report on the robotaxi industry & Tesla’s competition in it?

In Part I of the Tesla Space Robotaxi Report (here if you missed it), we covered why robotaxis matter, the current scale of operations (spoiler: a million rides a week globally), and the two main technology paths — vision-only vs. sensor-rich, and retrofit vs. purpose-built vehicles.

Now comes the part I've been the most excited about mapping out. The actual players. Their partnerships. Where they're rolling out. And the tangled web of alliances that's forming between them all.

Because here's the thing — most reporting on the robotaxi industry focuses on one or two players at a time. Waymo launched here. Tesla did that. A funding round there. Nobody is laying out the full competitive map.

Until now.

Let's get to it.

PS, make sure you also check out the big landscape map that I drew up, under “the demand layers” headline further below — there’s no other definitive connection map like this in the whole industry.
