Welcome to the Tesla Space newsletter, our 126th issue.
Last week, I wrote to you about how the Canada coast-to-coast FSD run was still on the road. This week? I can show you how they made it the whole way.
Here’s what’s on the Tesla Space menu today:
You could win a Tesla;
Tesla FSD finishes the first coast-to-coast drive across Canada, no interventions;
Austin’s driverless (Unsupervised) robotaxi expanded massively;
Tesla sales are breaking records across countries;
300 feet off a Malibu cliff with occupants okay;
Estonia becomes the 3rd European country to approve FSD (S);
Tesla opens its first Superchargers in Colombia (flag-wrapped, naturally)
SpaceX IPO valuation now clearer;
… and lots more. Enjoy!

Done? Let’s get on with the Tesla Space news this week ↓
X OF THE WEEK

With the SpaceX IPO coming up, the history of Tesla stock has been pulled up. It’s been quite a ride for some.
SpaceX will, however, be the largest IPO ever recorded in terms of valuation (more on Muskonomy section), so… we’ll see if it becomes a rocket like Tesla was.
It’s been 16 years since Tesla’s IPO.
Outskill offered a free AI workshop that a lot of you signed up for a few months ago… happy to announce they’re back with something new!

Are you just using AI or really working with AI?
I personally (Jaan) use AI quite a lot.
Not for writing these newsletters, no.
But I use it to research what’s happening, yes, every single week!
I also used AI to build out Tesla Space stock tracker and some of our website.
Without knowing how to code at all.
Today, the chatbots (Claude’s Opus 4.8 is currently my go-to) and agents have achieved a level where they can truly make the things happen you’ve thought about in your head for years.
It’s time for YOU to get smarter with AI so you can utilize it to your advantage!

TESLA NEWS

Tesla has reclaimed the global EV sales crown from BYD in Q1 2026, per TrendForce, back on top after a bumpy stretch.
And when we look at the EV sales per model in Q1, worldwide, you’ll see the absolute domination of Model Y at the global scale. And even Model 3 pulled off a second place:

made this chart, based on Jose Pontes’ data
And the more recent, May registration data out of Europe is genuinely eye-popping. The “Tesla is doomed in Europe” narrative is having a rough month:
🇫🇷 Tesla France just posted its best-ever May, with 5,446 registrations, up a frankly silly 655% year-over-year.
🇩🇪 Germany showed +322% YoY in May too, and remaining up year-to-date by 200% (also known as triple the sales of last year so far).
🇸🇪 Tesla Sweden registrations rose 71% in May, extending the 2026 rebound. (Yes, the same Sweden with the never-ending union saga. More below.)
🇩🇰 In Denmark, the Model Y was the best-selling car in May. Not best-selling EV, best-selling car, full stop.
🇪🇺 Zooming out, Tesla’s Europe sales jumped 46.5% in April to 10,654 units, with Giga Berlin doing the heavy lifting.
And outside Europe, the story is similar:

🇯🇵 Japan — I have to bring this in here, Tesla showed a 182% jump in May and 157% year-to-date, but the important bit here is, we just had Tom Zhu, who you could say is basically the second-in-command at Tesla, repost our article with: “Three more to go. Well done Tesla JP team!”.
He was referencing that the May result pushed Tesla past Audi year-to-date, moving it from fifth to fourth among imported brands in Japan.
🇦🇺 Model Y was the best selling vehicle of any kind in Australia for the month of May. Making it the first electric car in history to lead the overall AU sales charts across all fuel types
Quick rounds:
Unparalleled safety. A Model 3 plunged 300 feet off a Malibu cliff this weekend. The two passengers survived with only moderate injuries.
🇬🇧 Tesla UK celebrated 300,000th vehicle delivered

they even got the haha yes hedgehogs 🤣
Dan Priestley, leader of the Tesla Semi program, on one of the recent fleet testings highlighting the great performance uphill: “Running high grade + heavy load feels effortless in the Tesla Semi. Enough power to maintain speed when climbing, and regenerative braking making descents save and controllable. All while in silence.”
🇰🇿 Kazakhstan is set to buy more Tesla Cybertrucks for its emergency response fleet after officials reported positive results. The reasoning is sound: “Our ministry deals with emergencies where every minute counts. The Cybertruck has shown high efficiency in responding to various emergency situations. We are talking about saving people's lives.”

🇸🇪 The IF Metall saga took a turn for the absurd. The union ordered strikers back to work in a new “yo-yo” tactic, so Tesla simply sent them home. You almost have to admire the pettiness on both sides at this point.
🇸🇪 Separately, Tesla’s mail dispute with Postnord is headed to Sweden’s Supreme Court.
Tesla has released a Glass and Chilling Stone Set for $150, which comes with two little stainless steel Cybertruck shaped chilling stones.

Tesla China has released its first-ever official retractable sunshade for the Model Y for 1,499 yuan ($236 USD). Very easy to install and seems that people really like the idea this side of the world, too
ROBOTAXI, FSD & CHIPS
This is significant: Austin’s previously small geofence for Unsupervised (driverless) robotaxis suddenly… popped to cover the whole area.

Now, also, there’s talks that all robotaxis in Austin are running driverless now —- but this is so far unconfirmed.
Meanwhile, we’re seeing Cybercabs staged here and there, this is Bridgeville, Pennsylvania Tesla showroom:

and this is a now-known spot in Dallas, Texas:

It’s as if they are waiting something…
Now, just on May 28th Elon dropped this video saying “Cybercab driving itself out of the GigaTexas factory”, which Ashok quoted with “Soon it’ll be driving itself in to Austin city, reporting for duty!”
🇨🇦 They made it.

Last week we were watching the live tracker.
This week it’s done. Tesla FSD Supervised completed the first coast-to-coast drive across Canada: 3,760 miles (6,051 km) from Vancouver to Halifax, four days and 21 hours, on FSD v14.3.3, with zero human input.
David Moss, Devin Olsen and Spencer now hold both the US and Canada coast-to-coast firsts on FSD. What a run.
Meanwhile, there are other crazy FSD stats: Keith Wisner might just be the longest-FSD-driven record holder in the world for now, 73,240 miles of self-driving:

🇪🇪 And one close to home for me personally: Estonia just became the 3rd European country to approve FSD Supervised, after the Netherlands and Lithuania. The little Baltic corner of the FSD map is filling in fast although Latvia’s CSDD has taken quite a strong anti-stance. I’ve also by now seen Belgium, Spain and Greece make very deliberate moves to fast-track the system next.
🇨🇳 VIDEO: Tesla, in China reversing for a full 7 minutes… right on the edge of a cliff.

TESLA ENERGY
🇨🇴 Tesla opened its first Superchargers in Colombia, and of course one stall got the flag-wrap treatment. Tesla really cannot resist a flag-wrapped launch photo, and honestly, neither can we.

Tesla is also pushing Supercharger for Business globally with a dedicated new website. The turnkey “open a Supercharger site” play keeps widening.
MUSKONOMY
SpaceX
SpaceX has just officially announced that it plans to raise $74.4 billion in its IPO, targeting a $135 per-share price and selling approximately 555.55 million shares, according to a new SEC filing.
That would give SpaceX a target IPO valuation of about $1.75 trillion.
Elon also clarified the Anthropic (Claude) deal of $1.25B/month for Colossus:

I think only Elon is able to say “well uh, that $1.25B next month, why don’t you keep it we’ll need the Colossus ourselves”.
Meanwhile, Starbase, Texas, celebrated its first birthday as an official city. There was a band.
