Something positive

Editors Note

Hey guys, hope you’re all doing well. Here’s the scoop: You’ll notice a couple of things different about this week’s edition.

Thing #1, we are sponsored today by Morning Brew! If you like newsletters, then you’ll love Morning Brew. It’s really the best daily news update on the market, that’s why we are recommending them.

Thing #2: I’m talking to you. Hope that’s not too weird, but we were thinking here at the Tesla Space office that it might be about time to take our relationship to the next level.

I want to direct your attention to our latest video and tell you a bit about it: The Journey to Mars in a SpaceX Starship - it’s a spectacular fantasy that we hope to see become a reality in our lifetime. We’ve been working a lot over the past year on incorporating more of our own, in-house visual assets like 2D and 3D animation. It’s still very much a work in progress, but we hope that you guys are getting more value from the content as we strive towards higher and higher production quality.

Something to look out for: This week we are working on a historical documentary sort of video all about the real story behind the founding of Tesla Motors and the development of their first Roadster vehicle - there are multiple version of events out there in the media, so we’ve gone looking for the real truth. I think that by the end, you’ll be able to draw your own conclusion.

Cheers, Ted

Tesla News of the Week

NEVADA SEMI SHAKEUP - Tesla has begun construction on their new Semi truck production facility at Giga Nevada, but some drone footage released just last week seems to show that the location of this facility has changed. On January 19th, drone photographer and Youtuber Zanegler Tesla Semi Stalker released a video on his channel reportedly showing a flyover he conducted of the Giga Nevada build site on January 17th.

SELF DRIVING EVOLVES - Tesla has finally started to release v12 of its Full Self Driving software to customers after a localization delay forced the company to hold the update back in December. Version 12 is particularly important to Tesla’s navigation software, as it is set to introduce the “end-to-end neural nets” that CEO Elon Musk has been hyping since last March.

A BORING NEW ENTRANCE - Last week saw a few days of heavy activity at Giga Texas - but not for Tesla. Elon Musk’s other project, The Boring Company, began to set up their enormous new Prufrock 3 tunneling machine on the Giga Texas property, and was spotted assembling the giant robot on January 18th. The job appears to be a new tunnel digging under the highway bordering the Giga Texas property, to what looks like a new lot for outbound product on the other side. Applications for this construction were filled out back in 2022, and described a “private access tunnel along with associated improvements” - which definitely sounds like a Boring Company tunnel.
